Distributed Antenna Systems
Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) are essential when complete signal coverage is required within buildings, substructures, tunnels, parking garages etc. Concrete and steel of a these structures attenuate the radio signals to a point that handheld radios (trunking) and cellular phones can no longer receive adequate signal levels. Distributed Antenna Systems have been designed, manufactured, and installed by MPS in situations where users demand 100% coverage. Distributed Antenna Systems are designed to amplify the uplink and downlink signals for the RF Signal Traffic (cell carriers, 800 MHz trunking radios etc). This approach eliminates the risk and cost associated with cascading multiple amplifiers to overcome traditional a RF Coaxial cable losses. Furthermore, the inclusion of fiber helps to reduce indoor noise sources such as Computers, Power Distribution Equipment, Heating/Cooling Systems, and Building Rotating Machinery. The resulting fiber optic cabling infrastructure results in an extremely low loss distribution medium.
