The Fiber Optic Test Card (FOTC), Model MPS-4300 is an FODMS IOU optical backplane “extender card”, that is designed to be form and fit compatible with FDDI IOU card slots. The FOTC provides the engineer or technician with the capability to:

- Perform continuity testing of the internal IOU optical harness
- Perform Insertion Loss (IL) testing of the IOU/TCB optical path
- Perform OTDR measurements from the IOU backplane
- Perform non-intrusive optical tests of a complete TCB

The Model MPS-4300 has the following features:

- Shipboard FDDI IOU Card Slot Compatible
- Adapts IOU Four Channel Connector to ST Connectors
- Card Front-edge Incorporates ST Connector Couplers
- Constructed of Heavy Gage Aluminum Sheet Metal
- Coated with a Non-conducting Anodized Finish/ Non-conducting laminate on outer surface
